Self-Service App Store

A library of curated apps for dementia care

Care Team Tablets are customized with a small number of apps for music and reminiscing. Through years of testing, these apps proved to be most effective for engaging people across the care continuum.

Tablet engagement is not just limited to music and reminiscing activities. Over the years, our team has identified several other cognitively stimulating activities that can be enjoyable. The Self-Service App Store gives care team the option to download a variety of apps that can be used for engagement.

How to Use the Self-Service App Store

The Self-Service App Store allows care teams to customize the tablet with apps.

1. Open the App

When you first open the Self-Service App Store, a list of curated apps will display on the screen.

2. View Description & Install

Tap on the app icon to read a description. Each description provides an overview of features and suggestions for using the app with people in early, middle, and late stage dementia.

To add the app to the Care Team Tablet, tap the Install button.

To exit the description, tap anywhere outside the description.

3. View on Home Screen

Apps from the Self-Service App Store will appear on the second page of the home screen.

Apps from the Self-Service store include popular games, art, communication, music, photos, and video apps. Since learning to use the tablet can be challenging for some caregivers, we recommend limiting new apps until the care team is comfortable using the featured apps for music and reminiscing.
